The following projects are the 2021 Carter County Community Fund recipients:
Olive Hill Council for Planning and Restoration received a grant for their Cycling Olive Hill project. The organization’s goal is to resource, network, plan and help launch projects that are aimed at assisting revitalization and restoration of the community of Olive Hill, KY. Cycling Olive Hill aims to encourage the community to engage in riding bicycles or walking along with their children while they ride their bikes. It also promotes cyclists to explore the community. This grant will help add a bike repair stand in the Recreational Park and Welcome Area.
Olive Hill Historical Society (Center for Arts and Education) received a grant for their Olive Hill Community Mural Program. The Olive Hill Center for Arts and Education wants to create a mural program in Olive Hill. These murals will depict local history, creative expression, and/or community themes. The murals will be a tourism attraction to the area, giving the town a makeover and inspiring positive change in the community. This grant will help in creating the first mural that will get this program off the ground.
